Oils
Different oils can add softness to your skin when mixed with bath water. Mix just a few drops of a natural oil -like coconut or olive oil- into the bath and feel your skin get instantly silky!
Salts
Bath salt not only can help draw toxins out when mixed with other ingredients, but alone it can exfoliate to soften and smooth skin. A soak in a tub sprinkled with bath salt can eliminate stress, relax sore muscles, and rid your body of dead skin leaving skin soft and moisturized. Also, bath salt can reduce the look of wrinkles and find lines.
Milk
Milk contains fats, proteins and vitamins that help to hydrate skin and retain moisture for long periods, making it soft and supple. All you have to do is add a few cups of whole milk to lukewarm bat hater and steep in it for about 15 minutes, and that's it!
Honey
Honey can help clean pores while adding moisture to parched skin - and especially helps with broken dry skin. Add two cups of honey to a running bath to create this skin smoothing bliss. Soak for about 15minutes and rinse off after.
Herbs
Herbs are by far my favorite! Herbs can help reduce stress, soothe skin and relax the mind. Try dried (or even fresh) herbs like mint, lavender, rosemary or chamomile. If you don't want the herbs just floating about in your bath, you can put them in a cheese cloth and hold it under the warm/hot running water.
Essential Oils
Aromatic baths with essential oils benefit both the body and mind aspects. Essential oils can help with stress, troubled skin, and achy muscles. Just add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to your bath and you've created a tranquil aromatherapy bath!
Tea
Use 3-5 tea bags in the bath water or brew 1-2 cups of very strong herbal tea like green tea, peppermint tea or chamomile tea, strain and then soak in it for 20-30 minutes to detox the skin.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal in bath water is a great for treating allergic reactions, dry skin, itchy skin and even helps reduce the pain of sunburns. Add a cup of oatmeal to running water and mix completely. Soak for 10-15 minutes.
Baking Soda
An easy, safe and inexpensive way to soothe irritated skin, relieve body aches and detox the body is by using baking soda in a bath for 10-15 minutes. Baking soda helps rid your body of dead skin cells without irritation and draws our toxins.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to your bath (works well with baking soda), and soak for 5-10 minutes to eliminate discomfort from sunburns. Like baking soda, apple cider vinegar helps draw toxins out of the body, leaving skin toned and moisturized.
